Hi, I’m Joana Ray, a Portuguese freelance illustrator/designer.
I’m from Alcobaça and here I lived until it was time to go to the university. After that I traveled a bit to study (Barcelona) and work (Venezia) and eventually came back.
As an illustrator I’ve been lucky enough to work on all kinds of projects – kids’ books for the smallest publisher in the world, posters for awesome rock parties, lettering and illustrations for a cool mural, album art for cosmic music from a distant galaxy and animation for a short-movie.
But I also love and work on the multimedia universe – I graduated in New Communication Technologies at the University of Aveiro and worked full-time as a web-designer and front-end developer for 9 years, 6 of those for the international fashion brands La Redoute and Vertbaudet.
I’m fascinated about accessibility, responsive design and progressive enhancement.
I’m currently available for new projects, so feel free to contact me (even if it’s just to say “Hey girl!”) – ring-a-ding-ding
Where I also post sketch book illustrations and w.i.p. pics and you are very welcome to follow:
