My name is Joana Raimundo (Ray for short) and I’m a Portuguese freelance illustrator/designer currently living in Portugal.
I’m from Alcobaça (yes, the one with the really old but awesome monastery) and here I lived until it was time to go to the university. After that I traveled a bit to study (¡Barcelona, olé!) and work (Venezia, dai) and eventually came back.
As an illustrator I’ve been lucky enough to work on all kinds of projects – kids’ books for the smallest publisher in the world, posters for awesome rock parties, lettering for cool t-shirts, album art for cosmic music from a distant galaxy and animation for a short-movie.
But I also love and work on the multimedia universe – I graduated in New Communication Technologies at the University of Aveiro and worked full-time as a web-designer and front-end developer for 9 years, 6 of those for the international fashion brands La Redoute and Vertbaudet.
I’m fascinated about accessibility, responsive design (since I read that article by John Allsopp and that book by Ethan Marcotte) and progressive enhancement (since I read that other book by Aaron Gustafson).
I’m currently available for new projects, so feel free to contact me (even if it’s just to say “Hey girl!”) – ring-a-ding-ding
