My name is Joana Raimundo (Ray for short) and I’m a Portuguese freelance illustrator/designer currently living in Portugal.
I’m from Alcobaça (yes, the one with the really old but awesome monastery) and here I lived until it was time to go to the university. After that I traveled a bit to study (¡Barcelona, olé!) and work (Venezia, dai) and eventually came back because that’s just how life goes.
As an illustrator I’ve been lucky enough to work on all kinds of projects – kids’ books for the smallest publisher in the world, posters for awesome rock parties, lettering for cool t-shirts, album art for cosmic music from a distant galaxy and animation for a short-movie (limited access for now).
But I also love and work on the multimedia universe – I graduated in New Communication Technologies at the University of Aveiro and worked full-time as a web-designer and front-end developer for 9 years, 6 of those for the international fashion brands La Redoute and Vertbaudet.
I’m fascinated about accessibility, responsive design (since I read that article by John Allsopp and that book by Ethan Marcotte) and progressive enhancement (since I read that other book by Aaron Gustafson).
I’m currently available for new projects, so feel free to contact me (even if it’s just to say “Hey girl!”) – ring-a-ding-ding
